During the academic period he grabbed many academic and professional awards. After
completion of Masters in Urban Planning (2011) from GRD School of Planning, Guru Nanak
Dev University, Amritsar and Bachelor’s in Architecture (2009) from Department of
Architecture, Guru Nanak Dev University Amritsar, Punjab, India. Ar. Ashish Batra joined
LEA Associates South Asia private limited (LASA), a Canadian MNC in New Delhi, India. He
worked at several locations in India and in Oman on various unique and extensive urban
planning and architectural projects.
Currently he is having over ten years of extensive experience in all aspects of Architecture
and Urban Planning. He is a practising Architect cum Urban Planner and a contributor to
related research work with several publications in Architecture, Lighting Design, Urban
Design, Urban Planning, Transport Systems and related fields.
Since March 2016, he is devoting his time for spreading knowledge about architecture and
urban planning after he joined as a co-author and editor for the online Architectural portal
“archistudent.net”. This is a complete online portal which helps impart true knowledge to its
visitors in form of articles, presentations, drawings, design concepts, material galley,
discussion forum, polls and many other media.
Currently he is settled in Muscat, Oman and working as an Architect cum Urban planner to
develop Regional Spatial Strategies for the Muscat and Al Batinah South Governorate in
Sultanate of Oman under the prestigious Oman National Spatial Strategies (ONSS) project.
