In response to the client’s brief this office building is designed with a number of small offices at each level.
Each one of the offices is articulated as an individual identity facilitating cross ventilation to all of them.
Expressed individually in the built form each office block steps back creating terraces facing the north, east and west with varying inclinations allowing every office to open into an open landscaped space.
The circulation spaces between these office blocks too are facilitated with natural light and ventilation from each direction acting as elevated streets.
None of the spaces open towards the south in response to the hot arid climate of the building’s location in Ahmedabad in Gujarat, India where average temperatures through the year are between 35⁰ & 45⁰C.
Located at the junction of 2 arterial roads the fragmented office blocks vary in height creating a different composition from each side.
Agashiyan is a re-interpretation of the organic street linking individual spaces within a vertical series of volumes designed in context to its location and generating open spaces at the community and the individual level.
