Opened in spring 2017 in Rantasalmi, Finland, Hotel & Spa Resort Järvisydän offers visitors a very special spa experience. The Lake Spa, excavated inside the rocks, brings Finnish nature indoors. Partanen & Lamusuo Ltd designed the unique Lake Spa near Linnasaari national park. Rugged solid rock walls surround different types of saunas and treatment rooms as well as lounges and bar areas. The beautiful wood details are made of old sunken logs and logging spars, some of them over 500 years old. You can enjoy the amazing view of Saimaa lakefront from the large windows that encircle the spa.

The spa has numerous elements familiar from Finnish nature: the walls are rocks shaped by nature, the floor and the pools are made of natural stone. Daylight lets in from the crevice, and the spa also has a private fireplace. Some of the lighting is provided by atmospheric candles.

The spa boasts 250 m² of pools. The center of the main pool consists of “The heart of the lake” –cave, Jacuzzi, two wading pools which one is specifically made for children and the outside pools that meander their way all the way into the beach. The Lake Spa has six indoor pools and two outdoor pools. There are five different saunas indoors. The spa has a special heated “ringed seal” -stone, and the sound world of the spa is reminiscent of the sounds of lakes.

The ecological spa is heated by solar and lake energy. The spa blends into the landscape to honor the environment it sits in. The architecture supports Partanen & Lamusuo Ltd's ecological, aesthetic and high-quality design principles.
