The Royal Academy of Arts has announced that Jacques Rancière, one of the most influential philosophers of our time, will be joining Royal Academician Farshid Moussavi on October 8, 2018 to discuss aesthetics and architecture, and their connection with space and politics.

This event is part of a series of conversations between philosophers and architects which examine the relationship between architecture, politics, the environment and gender.

Jacques Rancière is Professor of Philosophy at The European Graduate School and Emeritus Professor of Philosophy at the Université de Paris VIII. He is one of the most significant and influential philosophers of our time. His work has widely examined the articulation of politics and aesthetics.

Joining him is Farshid Moussavi OBE RA, Architect, principal of Farshid Moussavi Architecture (FMA) and Professor in Practice of Architecture at Harvard University Graduate School of Design and Professor of Architecture at the Royal Academy Schools. She has published three books, The Function of Ornament (2006), The Function of Form (2009), and The Function of Style (2015).
