Foster + Partners launches "architecture from home" challenges to educate children during lockdown

Foster + Partners has launched a new initiative for children, a series of activities are regularly shared to educate, entertain and inspire children during the lockdown. 

Called #architecturefromhome, Foster + Partners started to publish a new task regularly on its website on different topics to show "how to draw like architects" or to "reveal the secret techniques of architecture", which is conceived as a new learning tool for children and young adults who are interested in architecture.

The studio also shares various templates of drawings and themes to request participants' creations and to share them social media by tagging Foster + Partners with #architecturefromhome hashtag. 

Planning to create 10 tasks, the studio has revealed five challenges until now, including Make a paper skyscraper, Create your own city, Drawing Trees, Archi-parts, focusing on drawing the future architect and the most fantastical skyscraper ever designed! and Photostory

"Over the next few weeks we will be sharing new activities for children whilst at home, away from school," said Foster + Partners. 

"We’ll include drawing, making, playing, thinking, reading, watching and other activities to keep them entertained - for at least a few hours!."

"We’re hoping that you’ll enjoy making them as much as we did," added the firm.

For young readers, Foster + Partners has recently published a logbook to encourage young architects and to make learn all about what truly makes a building.
