Zaha Hadid Design, a sister company of Zaha Hadid Architects on contemporary design, has unveiled new pieces as part of its Pulse glass collection at Maison & Objet in Paris, France. The exhibition can be visited at Maison & Objet until 21 January 2020. 

Plex vessels

ZHD's new designs include the new Plex vessel and extensions to the Cell, Pulse, Duo and Serenity collections. In each piece, once more, Zaha Hadid's curved and flowing forms are harmonized with distinctive material quality and vivid colours. 

Plex vessels

With each new collection, Zaha Hadid Design continues Hadid’s inventive methodology and process; sharing her story and its significance within the dialogue of contemporary design.

Led creatively by co-directors Maha Kutay and Woody Yao, Zaha Hadid Design’s  portfolio encompasses 40 years of research expressed in pioneering designs for lighting, furniture and finishes.

Serenity platters

A recent addition to the Pulse glass collection, the new Pulse platter conveys an exaggerated articulation of its pleated glass – a signature of the Pulse family of objects – highlighting the asymmetry of its design.

Comprised of two elements, the new Plex vessel in crystal can be stacked vertically to conceal its contents or separated into parts that nest together.

Cell candleholders

The limited edition Serenity centrepiece in transparent polished acrylic draws inspiration from Hadid’s innovative formal language of fluidity, its pristine surface interrupted by ripples that refract and reflect light.

Duo Salt & Pepper Grinders

Also new for 2020, the black Obsidian scented candle, an addition to the Shimmer collection, is composed with scents of smoky cade, cedar leaf, black pepper and cumin seed. 

Node vessel

The Shimmer candles are a composition of faceted, flame-polished glass that transitions from a rounded base to a hexagonal peak. Inspired by Zaha Hadid’s research into architectural towers, the candles can be reused as a sculptural container.

Pulse glass collection

The collection has been extended with new colours for 2020 that include the Serenity platter now available in rose gold, the Cell candleholder in silver and the Duo salt & pepper grinders in olive green.
