First images have been released for London's spherical concert venue, which will be located near the Olympic park in east London. Designed by London-based architecture firm Populous and developed by The Madison Square Garden Company, the 18,000-seat capacity new giant spherical venue, which will be designed according to the recent cutting-edge technological inputs and equipments, aims to re-define and transform the concept of "live-entertainment" facilities and spaces.

Called MSG Sphere, the new scheme, described as the "next-generation venue", will be a new home for various events, artists' performances, export events, as well as traditional music events.

MSG's London Sphere shows almost the identical design compared to the company's new high-tech concert venue in Las Vegas, which was released in February.

MSG Sphere London, featuring cutting-edge technology with an "interior bowl", will have the world's largest and highest media display on Earth with its adaptable acoustics set up and next-generation wireless system.

Situated in the district of Stratford beside the Westfield Shopping Center, the dome-shaped venue will sit alongside the new Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A), and University College London (UCL). The venue will also house a different camera system around the city which will be able to virtually cloak the dome with real-time images and video of its surroundings, making it seemingly disappear.

The bold red-colored shpere's exterior skin is wrapped by 190,000 linear feet of LED lighting and 180,000 square feet of high-resolution screens in the interior, which will enable it to be lit up or display images and video customized for each event that is taking place.

As used in Las Vegas' new concert venue, the company is expected to use a beamforming audio system - it will transform the sound directly to a specific location instead of blasting it over speakers spread through a venue. The system will be developed by a German company Holoplot and will be a key part at the core of design.

"It represents an important milestone in the company's vision to redefine live entertainment through iconic venues that will feature game-changing technologies and pioneer the next generation of transformative, immersive experiences."
