Ottoman architecture or Turkish architecture is the architecture of the Ottoman Empire which emerged in Bursa and Edirne in 15th and 16th centuries. Ottoman Architecture is a style that was heavily influenced not only by Islamic Mamluk traditions but also by Byzantine, earlier Seljuk and Iranian architecture. It is the quintessential blend of Middle East and Mediterranean artistry. Most of these structures feature huge domes that result in very spacious interiors and a play on light and shadows.
