Farshid Moussavi established Foreign Office Architects together with Alejandro Zaera-Polo in London in 1995. Projects realised are among others the Yokohama International Port Terminal in Japan, and the Barcelona Forum Park in Spain
Farshid has been a visiting critic in the US and Europe and has been appointed Professor of Architecture without limit of time at Harvard University. Previous academic record include Professor and Head of the Architecture Institute at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna, Kenzo Tange Visiting Design Critic at the Harvard Design School, Unit Master at the Architectural Association School of Architecture, and a Visiting Professor at the University of California in Los Angeles, Columbia University in New York, Princeton University, the Berlage Institute in Amsterdam, and the Hoger Architecture Institute in Belgium. Farshid is a member of the International Design Committee (IDC) in London and a member of the Design and Architecture Advisory Group to the British Council. She served as the Chairperson on the 2004 Aga Khan Award for Architecture Master Jury and had acted as jury member for numerous international architectural competitions and awards, most recently the RIBA Gold Medal 2004. Farshid is part of the Steering Committee for the Aga Khan Award for Architecture since 2005. Since 2007, she has been a member of ‘Design for London’ Advisory Group, established by the London Mayor to support excellence in design in projects across London.
