As world cities grow larger, green space is lost due to the buildings erected on them. Augmented Skin takes the approach of providing green space in a dense urban environment while minimizing the dependence of artificial light. The green surface is elevated off the street level, creating a void to house the main exhibition spaces. The museums` roof filters light into the layers of galleries below through it`s perforated metal skin. The entire museum functions much like a rain forest canopy, a raised skin which filters light down to the lower levels.
