This design for the Science Center Wels is a confident urban contribution, adding numerous values to the surrounding space by transporting and emphasizing the importance of sciences into society.

The building shell is covered by facade integrated photovoltaic and solar -thermic collectors towards the south directions as well as green panels to the north. This inteligent building shell in combination with constructural building-element activation allows an energetically passive museum.

The public space in front of the entrance hall, which is partly covered by the significant porch, serves as an entrance plaza.

The ground floor accomodates the main foyer, the atrium, a multifunctional exhibition space, an auditorium and the Restaurant. The main exhibition spaces are accomodated in two levels obove, connected via the atrium by the main circulation ramps.
