Construction Period: June 2003 to July 2006.

The house was designed to fit around the existing Banyan tree in such a way that the branches would
almost touch its walls and the tendrils would caress its windows. Two other trees on site were also
incorporated into the plan. All three trees act as giant umbrellas, filtering the light and encouraging
ventilation. During the monsoon wind and rain interact with the Banyan tree to choreograph a dramatic
dance drama of tendrils and water.
