Bicycle & Pedestrian Ramp Bridge

Location: Zhaoqing, Guangdong - China + This ramp bridge is designed to allow bicycles and handicapped pedestrians easy access to the second level of an apartment complex community. The existing site was constructed 30 years ago and has native, mature trees in the middle of the bridges location. We designed an open atrium feature to allow sunshine and rain access to preserve the landscaping. The guardrails are designed with a groove for future landscaping along each perimeter. Located under the ramps are inset bicycle and storage areas created to provide residents with additional gardening opportunites. These elements create a space that compliment the history while combining function and form.
