Commissioned by the Queenstown Lakes District Council, the inspiration for the concept came from the rugged mountain landscape that dominates the site. In plan the building is a series of wedges that fan around the cricket oval. Each wedge leans to the west, as if deformed by the forces of nature. This theme continues throughout the building in the pools, spaces & minor elements.
