e-studio was established as an architecture, urban planning and design company in December
2003 in Lisbon, Portugal. It promotes professional freethinking, debate and the collective
development of ideas. Its projects diversity is an answer to the different demands of scales and
programs and is the result of a close collaboration with artists, landscape architects, product
designers, structural engineers and promoters.
João Ferrão and João Costa Ribeiro, founded e-studio {e-studio: extrastudio – arquitectura,
urbanismo e design lda} after a continuous collaboration beginning at the Faculdade de Arquitectura
UTL in Lisbon, Portugal, where they graduated in 2000. After foreign academic experiences
in Escuela Técnica de Arquitectura de Madrid, Spain and Fakultät Für Architektur
