At least two million people during the Universal Exposition will enter Malaysia's exhibition space to discover its food, agricultural and economic activities. These are the expectations outlined by Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin on May 15 during a presentation of the Pavilion project, based on the fact that in a six month-period, at least 20 million visitors from around the world are expected in Milan. Citing the theme Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life, the Deputy Prime Minister said that it will be a great opportunity to seek answers on how to ensure sufficient, safe and healthy food for all mankind. “Sustainability and Innovation,” said Muhyiddin at his office in Perdana Putra, “are two essential elements to understand how this issue will be developed at Expo Milano 2015.”

The launch of the pavilion was also attended by the Minister of International Trade and Industry, Dato' Sri Mustapa Mohamed; the Secretary-General Datuk Dr Rebecca Fatima Sta Maria, and the head of the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation, Datuk Dr Wong Lai Sum.

The contents of the pavilion will reflect the Country's transformation agenda towards sustainability, focusing on efforts under the national transformation Programme in key areas of the economy. The 2,047 square-meter structure, which is inspired by the shape of seeds, will house and showcase products from its agricultural, palm oiland rubber sectors, as well as services devoted to trade and tourism.
