Here's the CCA's intimate call for the participants;

''Time is passing quickly! It’s hard to believe that we’re in the second month of 2015 already. Brian Dillon, Stefano Graziani, Karen Irvine, and Jesús Vassallo were just here. We talked about photography and architecture with them and looked at some of the 66,357 photographic objects in our collection—the oldest one dates from 1839—but actually captions became a big part of our discussion.

We’re interested in how captions influence the way we read photographs. Captions can cloud and clarify. They can attack an image or stand apart, apparently neutral and transparent. They might seem tranquil, but can be fraught. They are definitely relational things. They involve an interaction, and we think the best way to continue to think about captions is to invite you to join a conversation with us. So we are writing you to ask you to send us a letter about your idea on captioning, as well as a caption you have made. Your caption could be text, image, sound, or video.

If your thinking on this is a good fit with ours, then we would be delighted to have you join us here to work on this project together. Many architects, photographers, scholars, artists, and writers come to our research museum and we’re keen to continue this kind of dialogue and collaborative work with this project.

We look forward to hearing from you and continuing this conversation. Please do write back to us before April 13, 2015 and we’ll be in touch as soon as possible.

With very best wishes, we remain,

Your hopeful correspondents at the Canadian Centre for Architecture''
