This year two warming huts and one art installation will be selected from the competition to be constructed on the Red River Mutual Trail.

Two teams will be selected in the WARMING HUT “Shelter” COMPETITION from submissions of designs for a warming hut to be located on the Red River Mutual Rivertrail located on the Assiniboine and Red Rivers in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

One team will be selected in the WARMING HUT “Installation” COMPETITION from submissions of designs for an installation piece to be located on the Red River Mutual Rivertrail located on the Assiniboine and Red Rivers in Winnipeg, Manitoba.Two teams will be selected in the WARMING HUT “Shelter” COMPETITION from submissions of designs for a warming hut to be located on the Red River Mutual Rivertrail located on the Assiniboine and Red Rivers in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Teams are required to submit their project in one category or the other, but cannot submit the same proposal in both categories.

The deadline for submissions is Monday, October 6, 2014 at 2:00pm CST.

Warming Huts v.2015: An Art + Architecture Competition on Ice, is an open competition, endorsed by the Manitoba Association of Architects. Three huts will be chosen from the open submission process, one from a separate University of Manitoba competition, and one by an invited architect.
