Two EAA nominations for Mies van der Rohe Award

EAA has been nominated with two projects for European Union Prize For Contemporary Architecture,Mies van der Rohe Award 2015

EAA is proud to announce that Sancaklar Mosque and Yalikavak Marina have been proposed as nominees to become the best architectural project in Europe.

The European Union Prize For Contemporary Architecture-Mies Van Der Rohe Award is one of the most important and prestigious prizes for architecture within Europe.Launched in 1987,the Prize is co-founded by the EU Culture Programme and the Fundacio Mies Van der Rohe.It aims the development of architecture and acknowledges reward quality architectural production across Europe.

The award open to all the works completed in Europe within the two-year priod before the granting of the Prize.Previous winners of this award include David Chipperfield,Rem Koolhaas,Zaha Hadid,Peter Zumthor,Sir Norman Foster and many more...

Like prior years,the 2015 edition of the European Union Prize For Contemporary Architecture-Mies Van Der Rohe Award has received the nominations made by the independent experts,the member associations of the Architect's Council of Europe (ACE) the other European National Architects' associations and the Advisory Committee for the Prize.

This is not the first time for EAA.In 2005,Minicity Park in Antalya had been nominated for this special  prize.

This year's two EAA nominees have been winners at World architecture Festival in recent years;Sancaklar Mosque in 2003,in Religious Category-Yalikavak Palmarina in 2014 in Shopping Category.

European Prize Winners will be announced in the coming weeks.
