University Residence Wins 2nd Prize

AND-RÉ won the 2nd prize in Open International Competition for Lisbon University. Our concept for the new University Residence, in the Ajuda Campus, was the second best, out of a total of seventeen submitted proposals. The competition was won by our colleagues from CVDB and the third prize attributed to ARX Portugal.

The proposal aims to solve a dense program, fulfilling the intention of a responsible, rigorous and sustainable building, with reduced costs of construction and maintenance. The holistic approach to the program and its relation with the site allows a dynamic architecture, despite the program constraints. This way, architecture explores all variables of visual, functional and spatial properties, reaching a result of complete performance.
