Sydney’s Sculptural Frank Gehry Building Unveiled

The Sydney University of Technology (UTS) has celebrated the completion of its $180 million Dr Chau Chak Wing Building, legendary architect Frank Gehry’s first Australian building. The spectacular, sculptural marvel, which is the centrepiece of UTS's $1-billion City Campus Master Plan, will be officially opened in early February 2015 by Gehry himself who will jet into Sydney for the occasion.

Although the design has been the subject of a number of unfavourable comparisons, most frequently a crumpled paper bag, but also a melting chocolate castle and sagging skin, there is no denying that it has the potential to become an architectural icon.
