Lord Foster to speak at Boston Books Festival

The talk will take place at 4pm on Saturday 25 October in Trinity Church, 206 Clarendon Street.

Lord Foster will be delivering the keynote lecture on Art, Architecture and Design at the Boston Book Festival tomorrow. Drawing on some of his favourite projects, he will discuss the importance of art and highlight the close connections between the work of the artist, architect and designer. He will explore the significance of unknown, anonymous artists, as well as household names.

Foster + Partners has a long history of working with artists, both to incorporate works of art into buildings, as well as to engage sculptors, painters and graphic designers during the design process. The lecture will be followed by a panel discussion with Paola Antonelli, Senior Curator, Department of Architecture and Design at the Museum of Modern Art in New York and a book signing of Moving: Norman Foster on Art.

The Boston Book Festival was founded in 2009, and last year attracted more than 25,000 visitors. The three-day event was established to celebrate the power of words to stimulate, agitate, unite, delight and inspire, and the Festival marks the culmination of year-round events conceived to promote a culture of reading and ideas in the city.
